 This is our last dance

Two women, two historic bodies. Fear and confidence, escape and permanence, vulnerability and protection, the one who judges me and the one who sees me. Contrast perception. A series of provocations and a synthesis question: how to turn failure into power? Making use of dance and circus vocabularies, in a double game that brings both images of destabilization, “loss of ground”, trying to conquer the journey towards a destination and feeling sabotaged; but also to ascend, to build up, to be in a privileged position to see the bigger picture, This is our last dance, the original name of the work that debuts in 2018 funded by the festival of English Culture, is the shock and the meeting of two, as well said, women. Inspired by Fred Mercury and David Bowie song Under Pressure, we set out to investigate questions that offer alternatives to depressurization. Exposed to procedures that denote situations of friction by contrast, we let ourselves be crossed by the emergence of a last dance. Is this a rebellious dance and / or a deep silence? And how wide can the spectrum be between the radicality of the body that erupts from pressure by movement and the more serene state of rest?
